What’s the plan?

Our whole lives we’ve searched for a meaning, hoping to find compassion and friendliness along the way. We live on a Planet that looks for us to provide for it, the way it provides for us.

Sadly though, our Planet gets the short end of the stick, and quite often, so do its inhabitants. We feel that burden throughout our daily lives.

At Sharewood Food Forest of Lake Gaston, we hope to cut into some of that burden. Helping our Mother Earth, Wildlife and our fellow Humans along the way.

We envision a 2 to 3 acre Food Paradise with Sharewood Food Forest of Lake Gaston. Featuring HUNDREDS of Fruit and Nut Trees and Bushes, food producing vines and hundreds more vegetables, mushrooms and herbs. We also wish to include Keyhole gardens, where residents can contribute to the compost used to grow the veggies! We don’t want to stop there, as we wish to also incorporate Aquaponics into our Food Paradise, offering up more veggies and the opportunity to also take home a fish or two for dinner! But that’s not all, as we plan on having multiple chicken and duck coops to provide nutritious eggs.

A full meal, FREE for the locals and visitors of the Lake Gaston/North Carolina/Virginia Communities!!

We also wish to offer EDUCATIONAL opportunities for anyone willing to learn and for School/Homeschool/Club field trips!

Sharewood Food Forest will be a YEAR ROUND spot to visit, decorating and offering SPOOKY TRAILS for Halloween, EASTER EGG HUNTS for Easter, and BEAUTIFUL LIGHTS AND DECORATIONS for Christmas.

Our Food Forest will ALWAYS BE FREE to the public, as we plan to fund our business through Sponsorships, Collaborations, Partnerships, Honey, Social Media and merchandise sales. We will not be a Charity or Non-Profit, as we don’t want handouts from the Government and we want to limit any interactions or overhead headaches associated with them.

Our goal is to give back, help those in need, or those who don’t have the ability to get a healthy meal! To give back to our Earth and Wildlife. To provide a beautiful and relaxing environment, to be Leaders in our Communities and Guides for those wanting to take a similar journey. WE WOULD LOVE TO WELCOME YOU ON OUR JOURNEY, IF YOU ARE WILLING AND ABLE TO HELP TOO!

For those who may feel this isn’t their community, or it’s too far away to benefit them or anyone they know. I ask you to look at it this way.

This is just the BEGINNING of PEOPLE unlocking their potential POWER in NUMBERS! This may be our FIRST For The People, By The People Food Forest, but it doesn’t have to be our LAST! And the NEXT one might be in YOUR Community!

NOTE: Trees “take a long time”. When possible we will get as “close to fruit producing” trees as possible. But, the reality of this project is TIME. Our “Official” Open to the Public plan is the Summer of 2027, though if we get the Keyhole gardens and the Aquaponics going by Fall of next year (2026), then we should be able to offer some food before the “Official” projected date. We will promote and list our sponsors on our website before we are open to the public. Official “Ground Breaking” will take place in November 2025. Stay Tuned for more information.
