John Richard Bryan 05/02/1945 – 07/02/2013

John Richard Bryan; Poppy, Little Blue

John Richard Bryan was born to his Parents John Elmer Bryan and Ada Blanch Bryan in Annapolis, Maryland on May 2nd of 1945. While his child hood was spent in Maryland, he lived in Arizona, North Carolina and Maryland as an adult. He retired from NASA in Greenbelt, Maryland as a High Voltage Electrician in 2007 and passed suddenly in the early morning hours of July 2nd of 2013. John was known as a loyal, hard working man, a Great Father, Loving Husband and a role model like no other. He was survived by his wife Bonnie Ann Bryan, son John Richard Bryan Jr., daughter Robin Bryan, son John Joseph Bryan, daughter Stephanie Marie Bryan, step son Rusty Sears, step daughter Donna Wheeler, step daughter (deceased) Shannon Lynn Sears, step daughter Jill Ann Sears, and grandchildren Tracy, Ashley, Courtney, Brianna, Brittany, Aron, Devin, Zahid, Dylan and Kai (not born at time of passing).

John’s dream was to own a large piece of land and have all of his family live together, though he never reached that goal, he was able to inspire his son to have similar asperations. John was also quite the fan of many different fruits, though his favorite may have been grapefruit. But, he wouldn’t turn down a peach, some cherries, a bunch of grapes… you get my point! You could actually say this Food Forest was possible because of him, as he is my father, the co-creator of Sharewood Food Forest.

John lived a life through trial and error, who he was in his early life, was surprisingly different in his later life. Though John always cared for his fellow neighbors and ran a successful food drive or two and collected toys for the less fortunate in the late 90’s.

We think it is fitting to plant a few trees in Memorial for John Richard Bryan in Sharewood Food Forest, so his love of fruit, and caring heart can continue to make an impact for those he tried to help while he was alive. We love you Pops!!!!
